L’escalade au féminin
a passion for rock climbing

Agnès climbing instructor

I live in Corte, a small town at the entrance to the Restonica valley, in the mountains of central Corsica. I've been a climbing instructor in Corsica for about thirty years. I live and breathe climbing.
I guide climbers on all the rocks in Corsica, on crags, adventure routes and long routes. I also organise trips, courses and climbing days on the walls of Corsica.
Happiness is also in the rope.

Multi-pitch and traditional climbing

Sport climbing,
Cliff climbing by the day

I'd like to introduce you to rock climbing on the cliffs of the Restonica Valley. Whether you want to learn the safety techniques of climbing, learn rope manoeuvres on the cliffs or perfect your skills to progress, I can offer you a climbing session adapted to your level and wishes.
We can choose between the granite of the Restonica cliffs or the limestone of the Caporalino, Pietralba or Francardo cliffs.

Multi-pitch and traditional climbing

Multi pitch in Corsica

If you're already used to rock climbing or multi-pitch climbing and want to reach a summit. I can accompany you on a multi-pitch route. As a second or lead climber, we will climb an important Corsican route chosen together and adapted to your experience. We'll put on quickdraws, reach successive belays and climb to the top of the wall.
From there, we throw our rappelling ropes into the void to experience the descent that will take us to the foot of our climbing route. If you're more of a mountaineer, we'll set off on a wilder climbing route in the heart of the Corsican mountains.
We'll be using trad climbing, passive protection, friends and slings to experience multi-pitch climbing.

Holidays on the cliffs of Corsica

Situated in the centre of Corsica, in the heart of the mountains, the town of Corte is ideal for a rock climbing holiday. It is surrounded by numerous climbing cliffs.
The town has more than 15 climbing sites with hundreds of routes on the granite cliffs of the Restonica and Tavignano valleys. On the way to Île-Rousse, Calvi or Bastia, you'll come across the limestone cliffs of Corsica at Caporalino, Francardo and Pietralba.
Well equipped, they are perfect for a climbing course. Rope handling, climbing techniques, placement and stress management in complete safety are all on the programme. Of course, we also use our climbing courses to discover or get to know Corsica better.

multi-pitch trips

Holidays on Corsica's multi-pitch and trad climbing walls

Corsica, an island of mountains, offers majestic landscapes and exceptional climbing walls, by the sea, in the Corsican scrub or in the mountains.
During this multi-pitch climbing course, we'll have the opportunity to get to know the island by climbing on different walls, in the Gulf of Porto or Calvi, in the Restonica valley or the Tavignano gorges, as well as in the south of Corsica, in the heart of the Aiguilles de Bavella.
Thanks to our wide range of itineraries, we can choose the right routes for everyone to learn or improve their multi-pitch skills.

rock climbing holidays in Sicily

Sicily, an island of history
with dream climbing cliffs

I really like Sicily, where there are some absolutely majestic limestone climbing cliffs, but also all the historical wealth of Sicily.
I want to share the beauty of the karstic cliffs, which allow a variety of climbing techniques, and the rigour of the basaltic cliffs of Mount Etna, where climbing is more a matter of grip.
Thanks to the many civilisations that have succeeded one another - Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Arab, Norman, Spanish and Italian - Sicily is a mixture of all kinds of architecture, both Eastern and Western.
We'll discover some of Sicily's history. After days of climbing and sightseeing, the pleasure of sharing delicious dishes over a good meal: all the flavours of Italy are on Sicilian tables.

Portaledge

Night on a portaledge in the Restonica valley

From May you can experience a new adventure in the Restonica Valley. A night suspended in the middle of a rock face.
The Portaledge Restonica is an experience to be enjoyed alone or in company, an unforgettable moment to admire a sunset or a sunrise in the heart of nature.
Discover new sensations: the wind blowing, an animal moving in the distance or simply the sound of the Restonica river, sensations to discover, a timeless experience between adrenaline and poetry.

Via corda
Via cordata

The via corda, a new adventure, a ‘vertical hike’.

Altipiani has opened and equipped the first Via Cordata in Val Restonica: the Via Cordata Restonica.
The via cordata or via corda is a vertical route where you are accompanied by a guide. Unlike a via ferrata, there are no cables or numerous rungs. You're attached to a rope and use the sculptures in the rock as ladders or handholds.
We provide all the equipment you need for a via corda: harness, helmet and lanyard. We have equipped a second via corda in the Restonica Valley.
For 2025, we invite you to discover the via corda l'Orsu, a new vertical route with even more taffoni. The via corda Restonica can be booked online.

Choosing your rock climbing in Corsica

I organise my climbing courses and multi-pitch trips according to your wishes and requirements.
If you'd like to meet up, I've set up a contact page and a calendar where you can let me know your availability and your climbing expectations.
In this way, we can form a small group to experience new vertical adventures, at the foot of a climbing cliff in Corsica or at the top of a wall.

A little tour of Corsica’s climbing sites

Multi pitch and climbing cliffs in Corsica

Corsica is rich in cliff climbing and multi pitch routes, both sport and traditional.
The multi-pitchs are mainly located in the following regions of the island. Corte with the Restonica and Tavignano valleys, the Solenzara region with the Bavella massif, the Calanques de Piana and Porto.
There are rock-climbing areas all over the island, but the Restonica and Bavella valleys are the two areas with the most climbing facilities and the most climbers.
Bouldering can be found in Corsica, with two main sites: Pianotolli in Corse-du-Sud and Le Vecchio near Corte.
Here are some of my favourite bouldering sites and lmulti-pitch, not an exhaustive list.

come to Corsica by sailboat with Sailcoop

ACombining holidays, mobility and ecology seems complicated. Preserving the planet doesn’t mean being sedentary, so what can you do? I’m aware of the consequences of holidays, and in order to share an activity, a holiday or a climbing course on an island, Corsica, I had to find a different way of getting around.
To start your journey, the train takes you to a port, then you have to cross the sea and take a boat, but which boat?
In 2022, I discovered Sailcoop, a transport cooperative that crosses from Corsica to France by sailboat.
After several exchanges, we created a partnership between our two organisations, Sailcoop & Altipiani.
A new experience was born: combining climbing holidays in Corsica and mobility.
Like us, you want to reduce your impact on the environment when you travel. To thank you for promoting this eco-friendly way of travelling, we’re offering you the following discounts
– 5% + 1%* off the price of a cliff or big pitch climbing holiday;
– 5% off a one-way Sailcop ticket,
– 8% + 2% on a return sailing trip with Sailcoop.
The adventure of mobility doesn’t stop at the port of Calvi, you can continue your journey by taking the Corsican train to Corte. During our trips, for the cliffs and the main routes “near Corte”, we use electric bicycles, which are provided free of charge.
* The +1% or +2% will be paid into a fund that will be used to buy shares in the Sailcoop cooperative.
